The unusual cold winter in North America has made the electric and gas furnaces almost unworkable for most homes. Although the conventional furnace is the most popular way to get heat, the extreme weather has caused insufficient power supply. As well, the skyrocketing fuel cost also has forced people to find alternative ways to keep the houses warm.
In fact, there are many heating choices other than electric and gas furnaces. The most significant is wood pellet stove. Wood pellet stoves are easy to install, and wood pellets fuel is much cheaper than traditional heating fuels.
It is estimated that around 3600 homes in Franklin County are heated with wood pellets. The reason they choose wood pellets instead of directly burn wood is that, wood pellets are much cleaner and do not take much space for storage.
"The wood pellets produced by our factory sell extremely well this winter. We have almost gone out of stock!” A man who works for wood pellet making plant said. “Our factory has decided to enlarge the production scale to 10 ton per hour in the second half of this year.”
Till the end of 2013, there have been countless wood pellets making plants all over the United States, Canada as well as Mexico. The sufficient forestry supply and abundant wood waste have made it possible to produce wood pellets for both domestic and international consumption.
The governments also encourage the making of wood pellets in case of the same extreme cold winters in the following years. Anyway, wood pellets making is so popular now.
