Wood pellets production line in Russia |
As reported on Jan.22, 2014, RusForest (a publicly-traded Swedish forestry company operating in Eastern Siberia and the Arkhangelsk region of Russia) established a 100,000 ton per year (approximately 270-280ton/day) wood pellets production line in a sawmill of Arkhangelsk, Russia. Now this wood pellets production line is in test-running, and will reach its full capacity by the end of March.
Russia, as what we know, is a nation rich in forests (about 22% of world forests). Its forests cover 40% of its land, which in total is 542,000,000m3. As a result, its woodworking industry is prosperous, and an impressive amount of wood waste like shavings or saw dust is produced every year. In consequence, bigger facilities for wood pellets production are being opened these days since the most profitable model of pellets production is processing own waste by large sawmills and woodworking factories.
There have been at least 100 complete wood pellets production lines all over Russia now. And more wood pellet mill factories are under construction and will be put into operation in near future. Till now, we have helped our Russian customers built several wood pellet production lines across the country.
Russia is a main consumer of wood pellets
Previously during the year 2007-2009, only around 5-15% of wood pellets consumed by Russia depended on domestic production, while the rest majority relied mainly on import. With more wood pellets production lines establishing, Russia can consume about 15-30% of its domestic made wood pellets.
Later on, both Russian wood pellets consumption and production blossom. Till the year 2013, Russia even exported wood pellets to nearby nations. Only in the year 2012, it had exported 348,000 tonnes of wood pellets to Denmark.
