1. Q: What if the moisture content of pellets is required to be about 7%?
A: Common coolers are not able to reach such a low moisture content requirement in wood pellets production. However, we have developed the drying & cooling combination machine (patented) to dry the pellets to 7% moisture content or less, while its price is similar to that of common coolers.
2. Q: What is the density and moisture content of pellets made by biomass pelletizer machine? Generally what is the heat value of biomass pellets?
A: The density of pellets is about 1.1-1.3 ton/m3, and the moisture content is 7-10%. Different biomass materials have different heat values: for wood sawdust, its heat value is about 4000-4200 kilocalorie, and ash content is 0.7-3%.
3. Q: Can I produce pellets from forestry wastes like tree branches or used furnitures?
A: Yes you can. But you should first chip them and pulverize into powder, then dry them to a moisture content of 14-16%.
4. Q: Why new ring dies often occur hole blockage?
A: The die hole blockage often happens in the beginning of using new ring dies, since the new die holes are not smooth. Therefore, new dies should be polished in the following method first: prepare a mixing 25kgs of quartz sand, sawdust and machine oil according to the ratio of 1:3:1, feed into the pelletizer and polish the ring die for 30 minutes; then take down the ring die and hammer every hole with a nail to get them through. Then repeat 2-3 times.
5. Q: What causes the shutdown of pelletizer machine during operation?
- A: There are some causes:
- Gearbox oil level is too low, the machine starts automatic protection.
- The machine is overload, and thermal protection disconnects starter cabinet.
- Foreign objects get into the ring die causes overload, the safety seat pin disconnects.
- The safety cover of ring die looses or is not closed well.
6. Q: What if the die holes are blocked?
A: The die hole blockages are usually caused by too low or too high moisture content of raw material. When blockage occurs, take down the ring die first, hammer the holes with a nail to get them through, and then put it back for production. Adjust the moisture content of raw material to 14-16%. After every weekly production, get through the holes no matter they are blocked or not, in case their blockage affects producity.
7. Q: How many tons does 1m3 wood sawdust contain?
A: The specific gravity of 1 m3 sawdust is 0.3, so its weight is 0.3ton.
